Director and editor

She has a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Complutense University of Madrid. She has extensive experience in directing, editing and visual storytelling in documentary, advertising and fiction.

In television, she has worked in direction, editing and production in programmes such as ‘Ancha es Castilla-La Mancha’ and in Televisión La Mancha, where for more than a decade she worked as a director and editor in news, interviews and live shows.
In the documentary field, she has directed and edited ‘Francisco García Pavón, palabra y alma’ and ‘Tomelloso, Capital de La Mancha’, exploring cultural identity and collective memory. She was also editor of the documentary ‘Gurs: Historia y Memoria’, by Verónica Sáenz, nominated for the Simón Awards of the Aragonese Film Academy, a project that delves into the history and memory of the Spanish Republican exiles.

She made video clips for the singers Karmento (Benidorm Fest) and the artist Bewis de la Rosa.

In terms of training, she has given workshops on audiovisual creation and has taught audiovisuals at the Escuela de Artes y Superior de Diseño ‘Antonio López’ in Tomelloso.

She is currently working at the head of BiCreative, an audiovisual production company where she leads the creation of content in all its phases.

VERÓNICA SÁENZ

Director

She is currently working as a director on the fiction series ‘Valle Salvaje’ (Bambú Producciones for TVE).

She is co-director of the transmedia project #Maitino (RTVE), which had international success.

In 2021 she was selected by Netflix to be part of its Female Director Shadowing Program, a programme to promote female directors. She has previously worked as a script supervisor on the series ‘El Inmortal’ (Movistar+), ‘Ayla y los Mirror’ (Disney+), ‘Valeria’ (Netflix), Acacias 38 (TVE) and ‘Mía es la Venganza’ (Telecinco).

As a short filmmaker, she directed ‘Abuelitos’, awarded Best Short Film from La Rioja and Audience Award at the Octubre Corto festival in La Rioja. She has also directed the short films ‘Y Yo’, starring Ana Arias and Mario Baeyens, and ‘A vinos’, with Natalia Roig and Alex O’Dogherty. The cinematography of the latter was done by José Luis Alcaine.

In the documentary field, she has directed and scripted ‘Gurs: Historia y Memoria’, a medium-length documentary subsidised by Turismo Aragón and the Diputación General de Aragón, with the collaboration of the illustrator Paco Roca. This work has been broadcasted on La 2 de TVE, Canal 22 Mexico, Televisión Pública de Costa Rica and TV Aragón, receiving awards as Best Documentary at the Curtas Fest and the Festival Internacional de Cinema Cerdanya, as well as a special mention for educational work at Plasencia en Corto. It was also nominated for the Simón Awards for Aragonese Cinema in the categories of Best Documentary and Best Production. She also wrote the screenplay for the documentary ‘Francisco García Pavón: Palabra y Alma’.

She has a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Complutense University of Madrid, and has complemented her training with a postgraduate degree in Film Directing and HD Technology at the CEV School in Madrid, as well as a postgraduate degree in Film Scriptwriting at CPA Salduie.
