As Bongani, I want to make this film because growing up in Soshanguve, filmmaking felt like a far-fetched dream something impossible, something reserved for people with access, resources, and environments very different from ours. We were never exposed to film sets, cameras, or the idea that stories from our streets could become cinema. Gear was out of reach, and filmmaking felt like a world we could see but never touch. Today, creating ALEX S\u00dcD is my way of breaking that barrier proving that someone who grew up in Soshanguve can make a world-class film, tell authentic South African stories, and use ambitious techniques like the one-take format to push what\u2019s possible. This film is not just a story; it\u2019s a statement that our backgrounds don\u2019t limit our destiny, and that African filmmakers can create cinema that stands proudly on any global stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
