Born on August 28, 1991, in Iran, Zahra Azadpour holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in Film Directing. Her artistic journey began with photography before evolving into a passion for cinema. During her studies, she created several experimental short films, animations using diverse techniques, and documentaries. Dark Orange marks her first post-graduation project and her debut in international festivals. The film has already garnered multiple awards and honors, establishing her as an emerging voice in independent cinema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Director Statement<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This film was born from a deep conviction that violence against women must be examined from perspectives beyond the visible scars. Too often, the conversation evokes images of bruised and bloodied faces. While such suffering is undeniably painful, I was compelled to ask: what about the wounds that remain unseen\u2014the injuries to the spirit and soul?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This question became my driving force. Despite limited resources, a modest budget, and many obstacles, I felt an urgency to bring this idea to life. Dark Orange is my attempt to illuminate those hidden dimensions of violence, the ones that cut deeper and linger longer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\t\tA young couple appears to live a peaceful life, yet beneath the surface their relationship is fractured. The woman struggles with the weight of a one-sided emotional bond and makes a final attempt to restore intimacy. Her partner dismisses her feelings, reducing their connection to physicality and treating her as subordinate. Disillusioned and depressed, she confronts the painful reality of emotional neglect.
